Rejuvenating Faded Pavers with Re-Dyeing Process
This application was the entrance to a large commercial property with high public visibility. The owners wanted to rejuvenate the entrance without replacing the badly faded pavers. These pavers had not been sealed consistently over the years and thus faded. The color had been reduced to approximately 20% of the original pavers.
National Sealing Co. is the largest paver sealer in the country, with over 2 million square feet of pavers protected. We recognized a need to develop a coloring process for properties that had not protected the pavers for various reasons. Fading of pavers is a fatal consequence of the lack of continued sealing of pavers. Currently, many of those properties face a dilemma: how to restore the pavers without replacing them.
In the past, some properties actually tried to stain or paint pavers. The resulting painted or stained surface would look very cheap and unnatural, become slippery, and would be highly susceptible to frequent re-application. This created a never-ending problem and eventually had to be stripped.
We have developed a penetrating dyeing process or re-coloring process for faded pavers. We match the original dyes used to color the pavers and can apply our process while keeping the personality of the various medley of colors intact. Our process restores life to tired, faded pavers and is a much more economical solution than starting over.
The result is an attractive, restored paver.
