CASE STUDY: Indoor Pool in Hotel
PROBLEM: Slippery Tiles
SOLUTION: Application of Coating & Anti-slip Media
This scenario was a hotel in New Mexico that had an indoor pool with porcelain tile.
The tile had been down for years and was badly stained. This particular tile should have been sealed after installation. Through many years of pool chemicals, body oils etc The porcelain had absorbed much of the foreign matter.
Every attempt was used and just about every chemical known to man was applied to try to extract the oils from this surface. It was restored to maybe 80-90% of its original appearance but would never be 100%. The priority to this account was the anti slip more so than the cleanliness of the tile.
This customer and their different Chief Engineers over the years all had a different approach to creating a non slip floor. All of the chemical applications and do-it-yourself products failed. They either were hyped much more than they actually delivered, or the product just wore out and would have to be re-applied far too often.
The solution was application of our permanent coating process and broadcast anti slip media to the surface, creating a permanent non slip tile floor. Many of the photos as well as the application video can be seen at here.
